Due to the growing reliance on financial accounting applications and data processing, the security and integrity of the network and related applications must be carefully analyzed during the performance of the financial audit. The results of IT control testing are a critical component of the overall audit risk assessment as well as the opinions on the suitability of internal controls and the related financial statements.
We perform IT auditing and substantive audit testing during the performance of financial statement audits, performance audits, and other financial-related audits at Federal, state, and local governments as well as private organizations. We perform testing of general, application, and transaction controls in a manner that allows us to conclude on the operational effectiveness of internal controls and offer recommendations for improvements in the internal control structure.
We utilize frameworks such as the GAO's Federal Information Systems Control Audit Manual (FISCAM) and ISACA's Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (COBIT) as well as other relevant guidelines and standards, including those provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), to design control testing strategies and audit procedures.
